 The New Year 2024

We are only a few days into the new year 2024. Dominating the U.S. and World news headlines are as follows: 1. the Russian invasion of Ukraine now in its second year. 2. the war in the Middle-East between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. 3. the impending U.S. economic slowdown or recession. 4. the Presidential election cycle with most of Congress up for re-election to control a Washington D.C. at its highest debt-level in nearly a century.

I am actively trying to find anyone interested in doing an online degree program or online certification in Military Science. Therefore, I must be extremely careful in my statements pertaining to matters of War in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and elsewhere. Suffice it to say, I support Ukraine and Israel’s right to defend themselves against unprovoked invasions and attacks. I will say, however, the current U.S. military leadership has, for far too long, been monopolized by graduates from elite Military Academies. The strangle-hold these graduates from elite Military Academies, such as West Point, VMI, and the Citidel, have on matters of war, military spending, and foreign policy, is coming to an end.

The U.S. economy is top of everybody’s mind. Most early economic indicators have been warning of an impending economic recession for over a year. Indeed, I thought the bank failures of March and April 2023 was the start of another economic recession. In March and April 2023 the U.S. had several large bank failures totaling around $400 billion, Washington D.C. was on the verge of a government shutdown because of $30 trillion debt, and most Americans were still grappling with 40-year high inflation. Nevertheless, the so-called “lagging economic indicators” of consumer spending, GDP growth, and the labor market, continue to show strength and resilience.

2024 will see a U.S. Presidential election cycle, along with most of Congress up for re-election. Personally, after discovering this Qualified Immunity Legal Doctrine, I will not publicly endorse or support any Political Party or Political Candidate. The Qualified Immunity Legal Doctrine, especially how it is being implemented here in the United States, is antithetical to the founding American principles of Equality Under the Law, and the very notion of Democracy. If your government officials use exactly the same tactics as organized criminals, but are protected by Qualified Immunity, why should anyone endorse or support the many political candidates? Anyway, Washington D.C. is at its highest debt-level in nearly a century. All the American people will hear this 2024 election cycle are empty promises and meaningless rhetoric from our political candidates.

Even in the face of war, economic recession, and corrupt government officials hiding behind Qualified Immunity, I still remain hopeful and positive for 2024. Modern computers and other related internet technologies have made it possible to obtain an online degree or online certification in almost any subject matter area. A person can now obtain top-level world-recognized degrees in Business, Liberal Arts, Theology, the Sciences, Healthcare, Law and even Military Science, all from the comfort of their own home. I hold much optimism for the 2024 New Year.
