Christmas 2025: Computers, Radios, Electronics and More!
Christmas 2025: Computers, Radios, Electronics and More!
It is only 5 days until Christmas 2025. It might be difficult to get these items under the tree before Christmas, but they are great gift ideas for Christmas gift-card money, birthdays, or any holiday you might be celebrating. Presently, I am not affiliated with these products or websites in any way. These websites and commercial products are simply my personal recommendations as a Microsoft Certified Windows Programmer, business consultant, and tutor.
Firstly, I am a Microsoft Certified Windows Programmer and currently researching the requirements for teaching High School Computer Science. Most of my electronics recommendations for business, school, and communications are centered around Windows PC’s. Personal Computers were declared an essential devices during the recent pandemic crisis. It is still possible to get updates for your Windows 10 computers, but I highly recommend upgrading to Windows 11 immediately. With 25 years of IT experience most of my PC work meets or exceeds U.S. Government / Military standards. Windows HP inc. computers are the easiest to maintain and upgrade.
PC Magazine <www.pcmag.com> has the best and latest rankings of desktops and laptops for your home office, rugged drop-proof, online college, or any other of your personal computing needs. PC Gamer <www.pcgamer.com> has the most recent information on everything specifically related to PC Gaming.
Cord-Cutting is extremely popular in rural and off-grid areas. Basically, radios, TV antennas, telescopes, microscopes, weather stations, home security systems, and other electronic equipment are used as peripheral devices for the Windows PC. Simply put, you purchase a peripheral device, such as a radio, chess game-board, musical instrument, or telescope, that can function independently or be connected to a Windows PC for more functionality. The added functionality of being connected to a Windows PC can include tutorial lessons, best-practices and procedures, and connection to the internet when available, that can greatly enhance the use of the peripheral device.
Cord-Cutters usually start with the television. PC World has a ranking of the best over-the-air digital television antennas and DVR for the personal computer. You can watch local over-the-air television stations on your Windows PC for free without the need for cable, internet, or any streaming services. Additionally, you will want to create digital back-up copies of all your DVD disc movies, to be viewed without the need for internet or cable.
Secondly, a basic $50 campsite radio can save your life, and all the lives in your household, in the event of an actual disaster situation. Presently, I have an Eton American Red Cross FRX2 Hand Turbine AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio. The top Eton Campsite Radios can be found <click here>. Ham Radio Planet <www.hamradioplanet.com> has everything about Ham Radios, including a ranking of the top 5 Ham Radios of 2025. Again, be sure to purchase a campsite or Ham Radio that can be connected to your Windows PC for added functionality.
Third, home weather stations and telescopes go together like Christmas ham and turkey. Popular Mechanics <www.popularmechanics.com> has a ranking of the 7 best home weather stations <click here>. SpaceDotCom <www.space.com> has a listing of the best telescopes this 2025 holiday season <click here>. Instead of installing a pool in your backyard you might want to consider building a backyard amateur observatory for your family, friends, or an online degree program. Star Field View has the 10 Best Backyard Observatories for Stargazing Enthusiasts.
Fourth, most of these items could be found in any 1980’s Radio Shack. Unfortunately, Radio Shack went bankrupt several years ago and the 1980’s was longer ago than I would like to admit. Nevertheless, BestReviewsDotCom has a listing of the best electronic kits for adults. Learning basic or hobby electronics can prove to be an invaluable, even life-saving, skill.
Finally, most of this information is available on Wikipedia, from your local public library, or online college degree program. I urge people to donate and support these non-profit and public services this holiday season. I am a Christian Baptist and will celebrate Christmas in 5 days. However, whatever your Christian Denomination or faith tradition, whatever holiday you are celebrating, these non-profit and public resources can help you and your loved-ones enjoy the holiday season.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
